The application NuklidCalc is an handy tool for the radiation protection experts. It provides a swift access to the data found in the annex 3 of the Radiological Protection Ordinance (RPO) of June 22, 1994 (status as of January 1, 2014) and to the D-value of the IAEA document "Dangerous Quantities of Radioactive Material". Moreover, the application calculates different quantities related to operational radiation protection described below:
Working areas: for the selected nuclide, the limits of the activities that can be handled and stored in a working area of type A, B, C are calculated.
Numbers of LE/LA: for the selected nuclide, the numbers of LE and LA of the entered activity are calculated.
Dose rate/activity: for the selected nuclide, the activity as a function of the dose rate and the distance, and the dose rate as a function of the activity and the distance are calculated.
Activity at time t: for the selected nuclide, the activity at time t as a function of time t0 and activity A0 at time t0 is calculated.
Activity (t) < LE < 100 LE: for the selected nuclide, the necessary decay time for the activity of the source to be lower than LE (respectively 100 LE) as a function of time t0 and activity A0 at time t0 is calculated.
Conversion Ci/Bq: conversion of the entered activity in curie/becquerel in the other unit and its multiples.
Extremity dose: for the selected nuclide, the extremity dose as a function of the handled activity is calculated.
